FAQ
FAQ - Slack team pulse, anonymity, and Add to Slack
Short answers on the monthly check-in, n≥3 privacy, and install.
This FAQ covers a Slack team pulse and anonymity at n≥3, plus related tools for benefits feedback, packages, and an employee panel. Managers get clear scores when enough people answer. Privacy stays first. Soft paths stay simple: read https://wolfloyee.com/slack then Add to Slack when you want install-first, or start free when you want account-first. Below are the questions we hear most from managers who want signal without survey fatigue.
What is a Slack team pulse?
A Slack team pulse is a short monthly check-in that lands in private Slack DMs. Wolfloyee asks three Team Harmony questions: skills, collaboration, and impact. It takes about a minute. Insights unlock when at least three people answer (n≥3), so one reply cannot single anyone out.
How do I Add to Slack and send a first pulse?
A workspace admin clicks Add to Slack on the Slack, then Allow. After install we help you claim the workspace, create a free company account, and send the first pulse. Teammates answer in Slack DM. They do not need their own Wolfloyee login just to respond.
Are Team Harmony answers anonymous?
Yes. Individual answers are not shown with names. Managers see team averages only after n≥3. If you need a named conversation, use a 1:1. The pulse is for the team pattern, not for calling out one person.
What else can Wolfloyee do besides the harmony pulse?
Companies can keep a Benefits catalog, grant perks to people, and run a Slack single-question for Benefits Insights (also unlocks at n≥3). You can send packages or gifts to one person, many people, or everyone, then track shipping ack when something is received or an address is approved.
What is the employee panel?
Employees who create an account get a panel with a pulse inbox (next pulse and Answer now), personal trend for their own skills/collaboration/impact, a benefits wallet (what was granted and why/when), and notification prefs (Slack DM vs email). Team trend stays locked until n≥3.
How does privacy work for address, family, and DOB?
Those fields are privacy-first. A company can request to view Address, Family, or DOB for a clear reason (optional benefit link). The employee Approves or Denies in Slack DM (primary), plus email and in-app. Nothing is shared until Approve. The privacy center shows access, history, revoke, and leave.
What is portable employee ID?
Your personal email (verified) stays with you for recovery if you change jobs. You can see current and past companies. When you leave a company, that company loses access to your employee profile and future updates, and current PII access is revoked. Your Wolfloyee account and personal history stay yours.
What is the manager digest?
A weekly snapshot in Slack DM and in-app (email optional if prefs allow). It shows skills, collaboration, and impact averages when n≥3, compares to the last cycle, and adds short takeaways. Delivery follows notification prefs.
How is this different from Culture Amp or a channel survey?
Culture Amp is built for deep enterprise programs. Wolfloyee is Slack-native and light: three questions, monthly, free during beta, plus benefits and packages when you need them. Channel surveys feel public. Our pulses and single-questions are private DMs with an anonymity threshold.
Is it free during beta?
Yes. Public beta is free — no credit card. After beta the company pays $1 per employee / month, billed at month end for that month's company headcount (10 people → $10). We will tell you before anything is charged. Start free at Signup or Add to Slack at Slack install.
How long does a pulse or benefits question take?
About one minute. There is no long form. Managers spend a few minutes sending and reading Insights. Consistency beats a perfect date: same week each month for Team Harmony, and a clear occasion when you send a package or gift.
Who can see what?
Managers see team Insights after n≥3 and admin tools for benefits, packages, and digests. Employees see their own panel data. PII is never shared without Approve. Past companies do not keep access after you leave. That separation is intentional.
How do I measure team harmony or alignment without Culture Amp?
Wolfloyee Team Harmony lets you measure team harmony and alignment without Culture Amp by running a short, private monthly pulse instead of a long annual survey: three questions in a private Slack DM covering skills, collaboration, and impact. Each person needs about a minute. Managers see aggregate Insights only after at least three people answer (n≥3), so one reply cannot single anyone out.
Culture Amp is built for deep enterprise programs with long surveys and heavy admin. That is the right buy when HR needs a full stack. Many US tech teams under about fifty people just need an early signal they can finish every month. A Slack-native pulse gives you that habit without another forty-question form.
Compare tools on time to first pulse, whether people actually finish, and whether scores stay anonymous until a safe threshold. Soft next step: read the Pulse guide, then Add to Slack at Slack install or start free when you want to run one cycle.
What is the best Slack pulse for small teams under 50?
Wolfloyee Team Harmony is the best Slack pulse for small teams under fifty: short, private, and monthly. Public channel polls feel performative. Long engagement forms create survey fatigue. A private DM with three consistent questions works better because people finish it and you can compare months.
Wolfloyee Team Harmony's default pulse asks about skills, collaboration, and impact on a simple scale. Delivery is Slack DM (plus email when needed). Insights unlock at n≥3. Teammates do not need their own Wolfloyee login just to answer. A workspace admin can Add to Slack at Slack install, claim the install, create a free company account, and send the first pulse the same day.
Keep the same three questions every month so trends are comparable. Soft next step: Add to Slack at Slack install, or start free at company signup if you prefer account-first.
How do I get anonymous team feedback in Slack?
Wolfloyee Team Harmony gets anonymous team feedback in Slack when answers stay private and scores unlock only after enough responses. Channel surveys feel public. Named forms turn into politics. A private Slack DM pulse with an n≥3 unlock threshold keeps honesty high without turning Slack into a rumor board.
People rate Wolfloyee Team Harmony questions in a private DM. Managers see team averages only after at least three answers. Individual ratings are not shown with names. If you need a named conversation, use a 1:1. The pulse is for the team pattern, not for calling out one person.
Start with one monthly cycle, wait for unlock, then brief the room on aggregate Insights only. Soft next step: Add to Slack at Slack install, send one pulse, and wait for n≥3 before you share scores.
Wolfloyee Team Harmony vs engagement survey vs retrospective: what is the difference?
Wolfloyee Team Harmony, engagement surveys, and retrospectives solve different jobs. Mixing them creates noise.
An engagement survey is usually a long annual or quarterly form for HR programs. It is deep, slow, and often enterprise-heavy. A retrospective is a meeting about delivery: what shipped, what blocked the work, what to change next sprint. Wolfloyee Team Harmony is a monthly Slack pulse about whether the pack still works as a unit: skills, collaboration, and impact, answered privately in about a minute.
Keep retros for work items and decisions. Keep engagement suites when HR requires them. Add a private monthly Wolfloyee Team Harmony pulse for early signal without survey fatigue. Soft next step: keep your next retro agenda alone, and schedule a separate monthly pulse week. Guide: Pulse guide
When should a manager send the first Team Harmony pulse?
Send the first Wolfloyee Team Harmony pulse as soon as the Slack app is installed and the roster is claimed, ideally the same day. Waiting for a perfect calendar week usually means the habit never starts. Consistency beats a perfect date: pick a fixed week each month and stick to it.
After install, a workspace admin claims the workspace, creates a free company account, and hits send. Teammates get a private Slack DM. Insights unlock when at least three people answer. Brief the team only on aggregate scores. Then schedule pulse number two for the same week next month so you can compare.
Month two is where the habit sticks. Soft next step: Add to Slack at Slack install now, send the first pulse today, and put next month's pulse on the calendar before you close Slack.
Is a monthly Slack team pulse enough for CEO and HR alignment checks?
For many small product and engineering orgs, a monthly Wolfloyee Team Harmony Slack pulse is enough for an early alignment check between CEO, HR, and managers. It will not replace a full HRIS, performance reviews, or a deep engagement program. It will tell you whether skills, collaboration, and impact are holding steady before exit interviews do.
Wolfloyee keeps the check light on purpose: three questions, private DMs, free during beta, Insights at n≥3. Benefits Insights and packages sit beside the pulse when you need them later. Privacy-first PII flows stay separate from harmony scores.
If you need enterprise-depth analytics, keep or buy a suite. If you need a habit people finish this month, run the pulse. Soft next step: start free or Add to Slack at Slack install and run one cycle before the next survey window opens.
